What to Expect in a Microcurrent Neurofeedback Session
After booking your initial session with Galenoia, you’ll receive an email with links to a Client Information Form and a Consent Form — which can be completed online.
For your first session with Galenoia, we will complete together an Enrollment Questionnaire — for you to share a bit about your background and goals.
- We’ll begin with a few minutes to simply visit and check in. We’ll talk about:
- Any changes you’ve noticed since your last session
- How you’ve been sleeping, thinking, or feeling
- Any recent life events or stressors
- This friendly conversation helps guide your treatment so it’s fully tailored to your brain, your goals, and your journey toward calm and clarity.
- This removes oils, lotions, or makeup to ensure a clear connection.
- If you’re coming straight from work or errands, no worries — we’ll take care of it!
- A tiny dab of conductive paste is applied to help the leads make contact. If needed, we’ll tuck your hair out of the way.
- You’re welcome to bring along anything to touch up your hair or makeup after the session.
- We’ll then connect the five leads to your scalp in the prepared positions.
The Setup takes just a few minutes and is completely comfortable.
Now we begin the heart of your session — your IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback treatment.
Here’s how it works:
- The IASIS device gently delivers microcurrent impulses (about 1/1,000,000 the power of a cell phone) through the leads.
- These currents help your brain “reset” old patterns — nudging brain waves toward better balance and flexibility.
- You won’t feel anything — although many people sense their mind becoming still, calm, or lightly peaceful.
During the brief 3–8 minute treatment, you can:
- Close your eyes and relax
- Sit quietly in thought
- Or visit casually — whatever feels most natural
I may change the lead placement once or twice based on your individual response.
Once the treatment is complete:
- The leads are gently removed
- The conductive paste is wiped away
- We’ll take a moment to discuss how you’re feeling and what to expect in the next 24 hours
Most clients leave feeling centered, refreshed, and pleasantly grounded.
The entire appointment usually lasts 25–30 minutes.
Payment can then be made by debit/credit card, or in advance if you’ve purchased a session bundle. We can also check the calendar to set any follow-up sessions.
About a day after your session, you’ll receive a short 24-hour report via text or email. This brief reflection helps us track how your brain and body are responding — things like:
- Changes in mood or sleep
- Shifts in focus, energy, or calmness
These reflections help personalize your next session for even better results.
Every brain responds in its own beautiful way. Some clients notice subtle changes after just one session, while others find the effects build gradually over time.
