From Overwhelm to Optimal: How to Access Your Peak Performance
When I was a teenager, peak performance revolved around my field hockey training—pushing myself to be faster, stronger, and more agile so I could perform my best during every game.
As life evolved and I went to nursing school, peak performance meant something entirely different. It was about late-night studying, early-morning clinicals, exams, and staying focused and compassionate under pressure.
When I became a mom, peak performance shifted again. It became the great balancing act—juggling work, home, and motherhood. My plate was overflowing, and I was constantly striving to do it all—manage the household, stay calm with the kids, care for my patients, and somehow find time for myself. My definition of peak performance kept changing with every season of life.
Now, at 60, I find myself redefining it yet again. What does peak performance mean now—and how can I get there?
Honestly, this question would never have crossed my mind without IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback (MCN). My journey with IASIS MCN began when I sought treatment for panic attacks (you can read that full story in my blog, “My Personal Journey with IASIS MCN”). What surprised me most wasn’t just the relief from anxiety—it was the aftereffects.
And that’s when it hit me:
Peak performance isn’t about age, intensity, or competition. It’s about alignment and it is attainable at ALL stages of life.
It’s about your mind, body, and nervous system working together—not against each other.
This reset improves connectivity between the brain, heart, and gut—the three key systems that regulate mood, energy, and focus. Once that communication is restored, clarity returns. Calm returns. And from that calm foundation, high performance naturally follows.
It’s being calm enough to think clearly.
Energized enough to stay curious.
And balanced enough to show up fully for my life, my family, and my purpose.
IASIS MCN helped me rediscover that version of myself—the one who feels strong, steady, and deeply alive.
And that’s what I want for every client who walks through my door.
Because with calm comes clarity —
and with clarity, anything is possible.
